Since the list’s inception 11 years ago, 12,000 companies have been nominated and 557 companies have made the Inner City 100 list. Winning companies range from restaurants, to healthcare providers, to clothing manufacturers. This diverse group comes in a variety of sizes, from 10 to 5,800 employees, and revenues of just over $1 million to over $860 million. They come from more than 137 cities and 41 states in the United States.

  • Have been responsible for the creation of almost 63,000 new jobs
  • Employ nearly 86,000 people, of which approximately 41% are inner city residents
  • Have averaged 636% growth in sales over five years, for an average compound annual growth rate of 52% 
  • Have average revenues of over $23 million
  • Have average ethnic-minority representation of 32% - an astounding 300% higher than the national minority-ownership average of 7.9%
