What Does the Forum Do? The Forum was established in 2003 as platform to generate the critical mass needed to bring about sustainable, large-scale change and make a tangible difference for inner city economic development. To achieve this, the Forum relies upon actions taken by its Members and their support and engagement with the program and the network. Driven by a sense of urgency and purpose, Forum Members generate ideas and invest time and resources within their own organizations, collaborate with each other and partner with the Forum to pilot ands scale ideas into action. The Forum focuses its work on three critical action areas, chosen because of their ability to immediately affect inner city market conditions and because in these areas, the Forum network has the greatest potential to bring about sustainable change. Currently, the three dynamic action areas for Forum ideas, activities, events and thought leadership are:
At the core of the Forum’s success are its Members. The more Members are involved with the agenda, the more enriching they find the experience and the greater the potential impact they may have – what you put into the Forum will multiply ten-fold what you can get out of it. Responsibilities of Membership Upon submitting an application for membership, Members agree to do their best to do the following:
Actively participating Members may be provided increased opportunities within the Forum program, including reductions in Membership fees or invitations to VIP events. Further, active Members will get priority for activities, events or renewal, if capacity limits are reached.
